Latency refers to the delay in a network. IP Latency has a big impact on network performance, as high latency causes packet loss - not all data packets arrive at their destination. Checking IP latency is therefore an important part of network monitoring and of any network performance test.
IP Latency Monitoring Using PRTG

Bandwidth Monitoring
Bandwidth is another important factor for determining network performance. As it supports SNMP, packet sniffing, and NetFlow, PRTG is a very powerful protocol analyzer which tracks bandwidth usage by protocol, port, or IP address. The software's flexible alerting system notifies you of possible bandwidth bottlenecks before network performance is affected. However, if latency is too high, by only adding more bandwidth you will not be able to fix the problem. This is why you should always combine bandwidth monitoring with IP latency monitoring.
