Using PRTG Hosted Monitor

PRTG Manual: Create a PRTG Hosted Monitor Instance

Sign up to PRTG Hosted Monitor

1. Go to the PRTG Hosted Monitor Customer Portal.
    

2. Enter your email address along with a strong password, or sign up with your existing Google, Amazon, or Microsoft account using single sign-on (SSO).
   Before you proceed, you must agree to the terms and conditions and the privacy policy.
3. Click Sign Up if you decided to sign up with an email address and password.
4. Check your inbox for the verification email from Paessler and verify the email address.

Add a PRTG Hosted Monitor Subscription

1. Enter your credentials and click Log In to log in to PRTG Hosted Monitor.
    

2. Click Add New Subscription to select a plan and customize your subscription details, such as the domain name and the hosting region. Alternatively, you can click Start free trial now to immediately proceed with a trial subscription. If you select Start free trial now, you can skip to step 7.
    

If you select Start free trial now, PRTG Hosted Monitor automatically generates and assigns a domain name to your instance. You can change the domain name at any time.

3. Optionally, customize your subscription:
   1. Enter a domain name or leave the field empty to let Paessler generate it for you.
   2. Select a hosting region from the drop-down list if you want to change the default region.
       

4. Select a subscription plan that fits your requirements.
5. Select a payment method. If you selected a trial plan, you can skip this step.
6. Review the Checkout Summary and click Checkout to proceed with your selected plan.
7. Complete the checkout process in the window that opens. Add your account and billing details and decide if you want to opt in to data sharing.
8. After you complete the process of adding a subscription, you can see the details of the subscription and the progress of creating your PRTG Hosted Monitor instance on the Subscription Overview page.
    

Smart Setup for PRTG Hosted Monitor

1. When your instance is ready, click Open PRTG to open PRTG in the PRTG web interface.
    

2. Enter your credentials on the login screen.
3. You see the Welcome page of PRTG. To open the device tree, click View Results, or click Devices in the main menu bar. PRTG Hosted Monitor automatically creates a hosted probe that runs on the hosted instance. It shows several health values of the instance and you can instantly monitor all servers, services, and devices that are publicly available via the internet with the hosted probe.
    

4. To complete the setup of your instance, we recommend that you go through the guided smart setup in the PRTG web interface. In particular, you must install a remote probe, which is required for monitoring your LAN. Click Install Remote Probe to start the installation.
