How PRTG defines sensors
In PRTG, “sensors” are the basic monitoring elements. One sensor usually monitors one measured value in your network, e.g. the traffic of a switch port, the CPU load of a server, the free space of a disk drive. On average you need about 5-10 sensors per device or one sensor per switch port.

Dell Poweredge
The Dell Poweredge System Health Sensor uses SNMP to monitor and report on the overall system health of a Dell Poweredge Server – including power supply, memory, temperature and cooling device.
Dell Hardware
The Dell Hardware Sensor shows values returned by Dell specific OID values such as the system management software and hardware parameters.
HPE ProLiant
The SNMP HPE ProLiant System Health Sensor can monitor and alert on multiple aspects of your HPE ProLiant Server from fault tolerant fans to the temperature of multiple hardware components. This sensor also includes a channel for the Integrated Management Log.
IBM X
The IBM X System Health Sensor can provide alerts and metrics on the voltage of planars, revolutions per minute of fans, status of power supplies and the temperature of CPUs.
