Network monitoring firm to discuss virtualization monitoring, new partner program and product upgrades at conference

Wakefield, Mass. and Nuremberg, Germany - August 31, 2015 - Paessler AG, the innovative network monitoring solutions specialist, today announced that a new partner program and a variety of upgrades to PRTG Network Monitor will be unveiled at VMworld. Paessler will be exhibiting from Aug. 30 - Sept. 2 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco (booth #2534).

PRTG Network Monitor enables IT administrators to continuously monitor the health and performance of their entire infrastructure, including cloud and virtualized components. Additionally, PRTG has purpose-built sensors designed to monitor VMware servers and virtual machines, helping administrators track CPU, disk usage and the effect on the network. It is critical to monitor the effect virtual machines have on network performance and to right-size virtual machines so that resources are not wasted. Paessler engineers will be on-hand at the show to demonstrate PRTG's benefits for VMware users.

Paessler will also announce multiple enhancements to its partner program, including a redesigned deal registration system, new certification programs and targeted marketing support that will strengthen reseller relationships. Full details of Paessler's partner program will be announced in a separate press release during the conference.

"Given our strength and expertise in monitoring virtualized environments, VMworld is the perfect venue to announce our new partner program," said Christian Twardawa, chief operating officer, Paessler. "As SMB IT environments increase in size and complexity, it is critical that we continue to support both IT administrators and the resellers that serve them."

In addition, Paessler will demonstrate a critical new feature - clustered probes - as well as highlight new sensor types that enrich the PRTG experience and respond to demand from the customer base. With clustered probes, network administrators can provide a high-availability environment for their network monitoring implementation in multiple locations.

New sensor types that will be released at the show include:

  • The Oracle Tablespace BETA sensor, for monitoring a tablespace on an Oracle server.
  • The Exchange Database DAG (Powershell) sensor, for monitoring the DAG status of a database on an Exchange server via PowerShell.
  • The SNMP Custom Advanced BETA sensor, for monitoring numerical values from up to 10 custom OIDs in different channels.
  • The SNMP Custom Table BETA sensor, for monitoring numerical values from an OID that returns an SNMP table.
