MSPAlliance Accreditation Program

Los Angeles and Nuremburg, Germany, (October 26, 2009) - Paessler AG today announced that it has received accreditation under the MSPAlliance's (MSPA) Vendor Accreditation Program (VAP). VAP is the first program of its kind, specifically designed by managed service providers (MSPs) as a benchmark for vendors who sell to the MSP community. Vendors who bear the VAP seal have shown they abide by the highest principles of quality in areas such as financial stability, positive channel practices, product research and development, and MSP customer satisfaction.

"The Vendor Accreditation Program is important to MSPs, since companies that receive accreditation have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the channel," said Charles Weaver, president of the MSPAlliance. "We are very proud to have Paessler as a part of this prestigious body of vendors."

VAP was created using a wide base of criteria considered as critical by MSPs when selecting a vendor. Criteria examined during the accreditation process include:

  • Business practices: Focusing on channel development, channel competition safeguards, experience in the managed services industry, etc.
  • Product Roadmap: Examining the vendor's willingness to invest in their products in order to ensure continued relevance for the MSPs on a continued basis.
  • Financial: Examination of financial stability to ensure adequate support of channel initiatives and product development.
  • Client References: Vendor must provide at least three MSP specific client references.

"We are very pleased to have earned this accreditation through the MSPAlliance," said Dirk Paessler, CEO of Paessler AG. "Our PRTG Network Monitoring solution is ideally suited to help MSPs optimize and manage their network infrastructure to ensure the most reliable and highest quality of service for their customers. Paessler's VAP accreditation will give MSP's even greater confidence in our ability to deliver the most effective and easy-to-use network tools on the market."

Paessler AG's PRTG Network Monitor enables MSPs to deliver cost-effective network monitoring tools to their customers that can help safeguard against unexpected downtime and provide an easy-to-understand snapshot of the entire network environment. With critical network data available at a glance, MSPs and their clients are able to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become full-scale problems, saving valuable time, money and resources and preserving valuable customer relationships.

"The phrase we hear most often from our MSP customers is 'Finally - a tool that is designed with our business needs in mind,'" said Kenneth Sanofsky, Paessler's U.S. general manager. "PRTG is already providing MSPs with significant breakthroughs in the level of service and satisfaction they're able to provide to their customers. This VAP approval further validates our program of building MSP channel partnerships around the world."

PRTG Network Monitor uses remote probes deployed throughout the MSP's main architecture and on customer networks to gather and report data back to the MSP's core (administrator) PRTG Network Monitor installation. Remote probes can be configured to monitor for just about any parameter required - data transmission speed, traffic load, server response time, available storage capacity, uptime, and much more - and enable network monitoring on a virtually infinite number of locally distributed customer networks with a single core installation. PRTG's flexible and scalable deployment options allow MSPs to dispatch remote probes to monitor as many customer networks as desired, for as long or as short a time as needed, regardless of their physical location.

PRTG can be run as a credential-based system, where MSP administrators set up user accounts for each client. A flexible notification system can be configured to send an instant alert in the event of specified network events via e-mail, telephone, SMS or pager to both client and MSP technical representatives as needed.

An attractive and cost-efficient pricing model allows MSPs to scale up the number of probes as business growth demands; customers start out paying for the license they need now, and only pay the difference when upgrading to a greater license. And, because PRTG Network Monitor requires no special MSP license, MSPs can setup fully-functional monitoring service even on the freeware edition, and pay for additional sensors as needed.

Paessler will be a featured vendor at MSPWorld Las Vegas, sponsored by the MSPAlliance, November 12 and 13 at The Venetian in Las Vegas, NV.
