iPRTG v3.0, optimized for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, enables real-time remote monitoring with series of powerful enhancements based directly on customer demand.

Los Angeles, Calif. and Nuremberg, Germany (November 30, 2011) — Paessler AG, the innovative network monitoring solutions specialist, today announced the availability of iPRTG v3.0, the latest version of the mobile monitoring app for its PRTG network monitoring solution. iPRTG enables IT administrators to keep a watchful eye on their networks, and to remotely manage network monitoring tasks, regardless of time or location, by pulling data directly from the PRTG server and displaying it on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Paessler’s flagship product, PRTG Network Monitor, is a robust solution designed to make network monitoring on virtually any scale easy, efficient and flexible. PRTG provides continuous monitoring of LANs, WANs, servers, websites, appliances, URLs and more, enabling IT administrators to find problems and resolve them before they escalate.

iPRTG puts these same capabilities in the palm of an IT administrator’s hands, literally. Key enhancements to v3.0 include support for landscape orientation, which lets users rotate their device for a wider, more complete view of graphs, maps and other monitoring data, plus high resolution graphs optimized for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. iPRTG v3.0 also enables users to change device settings and sensors directly from within the app.

“Our list of enhancements to iPRTG aims to make the mobile monitoring experience more intuitive and user friendly than ever before,” said Dirk Paessler, founder and CEO of Paessler. “We understand the time-sensitive nature of network monitoring. This latest upgrade to our family of mobile monitoring apps – which also includes an app for Android phones and tablets – puts the control into the IT administrator’s hands, regardless of where they may be at any given time, ensuring both optimum network performance and peace of mind that no issue goes unattended.”

Version 3.0 also features a new “Send Email” function, which enables users to open a new window in their device’s native email application with a direct link to a monitoring object in the PRTG web interface. This is particularly useful when an administrator needs to delegate tasks to other team members while on-the-go. Additionally, to ensure nothing slips through the cracks, iPRTG can now be configured to continuously alert the user in case the alarm count of their monitoring setup is greater than zero.

The full new feature list for iPRTG v3.0 includes:

  • Support for landscape orientation
  • Added view showing log entries
  • Added view showing geomaps of sensors
  • Ability to change sensor-/device settings from within the app
  • New "Send Email" function
  • Ability to edit comments within the app
  • Added setting for "Repeat Alarms" to establish ongoing reminders if the count of sensors in error or alarm state is greater than zero
  • Added new sensor lists: "Most/Least Available Disk Space" and "Shortest/Longest System Uptime"
  • New icons and artwork

For iPRTG’s development and distribution through the Apple iTunes store, Paessler has partnered with beyond content GmbH, a specialist in iPhone and web applications. Available for immediate download for just $11.99, the new iPRTG v3.0 is provided as a free upgrade to current iPRTG users. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running on iOS 4.0 or later.
