Acurus is an Australian MSP providing managed network, cloud, and cybersecurity services to major organizations in utilities, health, government, and retail. Clients include Officeworks, Bakers Delight, Red Energy, and The Victorian Department of Health.
To serve its clients, Acurus operates a fully managed national private network connected to all major Australian carriers and global cloud providers. Its 50-person NOC monitors customer environments around the clock, 365 days a year.
Before PRTG, the previous monitoring solution was slow, complex to update, and limited Acurus's ability to adapt quickly to changing customer needs. SLA reporting required significant manual effort. The firm needed a platform that could power Monitoring-as-a-Service at scale.
PRTG replaced the previous solution and became the foundation of Acurus's managed service offering. Its simple interface, responsive web design, and native mobile apps significantly reduced the operational overhead of running and maintaining the monitoring platform.
Acurus monitors ports, switches, routers, WAN, LAN, applications, servers, firewalls, storage, and virtual environments for its customers. Custom shell-based and database-based scripts pull key metrics from systems and databases, enabling highly granular alerting.
sFlow and bandwidth data give Acurus visibility into which endpoints and applications consume the most capacity, allowing proactive performance recommendations to clients.
Automated SLA reporting is an unexpected benefit: Acurus can share accurate uptime and downtime data directly with clients, improving transparency and accountability across all managed services.
We have found these sophisticated levels of monitoring to be highly effective, improving the end user’s experience of the systems and applications in use, giving us the opportunity to provide a proactive resolution rather than having the end user raise issues.
