Bosch Energy and Building Solutions provides safety, security, and automation systems for commercial buildings. Modern building management depends not only on OT systems like fire alarms and video infrastructure, but on the IT that connects them.
Traditional BMS and SCADA platforms are optimized for OT. IT components can only be monitored in a rudimentary way. With more than 100,000 customers relying on always-on building infrastructure, Bosch needed to bring IT and OT visibility together in a single interface.
Running a separate IT monitoring solution alongside the Bosch BMS would create unnecessary complexity for customers.
PRTG Network Monitor covers classic IT components: servers, switches, and network infrastructure across all buildings and clients.
The key integration is PRTG OPC UA Server. It receives status data from PRTG, converts it into OPC UA format, and forwards it into the Bosch BMS. Technicians in customer control rooms see IT and building technology data in one familiar system, without switching tools.
Alerts are tagged and assigned automatically. The Bosch BMS puts IT data into context with building information, enabling precise fault analysis.
PLC controllers with OPC UA clients serve as secure interfaces for data exchange between separate networks, integrated into the centralized monitoring environment.
