working on
New UI and API: Create, edit, and delete probes and groupss
PRTG gets a completely new UI and API. Use them to create, edit, and delete probes and groups.
Single sign-on (SSO) support for PRTG MultiBoard
Authenticate PRTG servers using single sign-on authentication in PRTG MultiBoard.
SSH Sensors on multi-platform probe
Gather performance and system data by monitoring via Secure Shell (SSH) on many Linux and Unix distributions, as well as from certain macOS X systems.
We plan to also make SSH sensors available on the multi-platform probe.
REST Custom v2 extensions
Channel discovery automatically creates sensor channels based on the sensor return values, saving you time and effort creating the sensor, or when additional values are returned from your REST API.
Support for session-based authentication against REST APIs.
New UI and API v2 on PRTG Hosted Monitor
Introduce the new PRTG web interface to PRTG Hosted Monitor. You can enjoy the new look and feel and use the API v2.
Streamline the Multi-Platform Probe experience for PRTG
Integrate the NATS server and offer support for self-signed certificates to simplify the multi-platform probes installation and set up process.
SSH Script v2 sensor
Provide an updated version of the SSH Script sensor. The new SSH Script v2 comes with the same benefits as the previous version:
- Versioned script output format for reliable updates
- Enhanced error handling
- Well-defined JSON schema for validation
Release PRTG Data Hub on Windows
Develop PRTG Data Hub to forward and filter syslog and SNMP traps from a Windows system.
✓ Multi-platform probe as container
Easily deploy and scale the multi-platform probe on any device that supports docker containers.
✓ Installation process improvements for the multi-platform probe
Improve the installation process of the multi-platform probe through support of deployment via RPM Package Manager and Debian Package Manager and additional Windows support.
Try out our new NATS installer for Windows with the multi-platform probe.
✓ Infrastructure monitoring via multi-platform probe
Monitor your system from Linux systems with the multi-platform probe. You can find a list of all supported platforms in the manual: Multi-Platform Probe for PRTG.
Try out the SNMP Uptime v2, SNMP Disk Free v2, SNMP Custom v2, and SNMP Traffic v2 sensors and improve security with TLS 1.2 in the stable release Multi-Platform Probe 1.0.
planned
New UI and API: Create, edit, and delete sensorss
PRTG gets a completely new UI and API. Use them to create, edit, and delete sensors.
Kerberos authentication for Windows systems monitoring
Support Kerberos authentication for Windows sensors to enhance security and compliance to security policies.
This integration provides stronger protection and simplifies the authentication process for Windows devices.
MultiBoard: Support for VDI environments
Implement targeted solutions to handle certificates for VDI environments to simplify a secure connection setup.
PRTG Data Hub to collect Windows event logs
Enable PRTG Data Hub to collect, filter, and forward Windows event logs.
More sensors available on the multi-platform probe
Expand the sensors available for the multi-platform probe to expand your monitoring capabilities and provide more comprehensive insights into your network infrastructure.
These sensors include generic SNMP sensors, as wel as support for QNAP, Synology, HPE Proliant, and Cisco.
If you have specific sensor requests for the multi-platform probe, let us know via the Paessler Help Desk.
For more information, see the Knowledge Base: How can I propse new features or sensors for PRTG?
Work on scalability and reduce the number of installations in multi-server setups
Push the maximum sensor count possible on a single PRTG installation.
exploration
SSO with any Identity & Access Management (IAM) Solution via OpenID Connect (OIDC)
Use your IAM solution of choice with a generic OpenID Connect (OIDC) integration option.
Currently, we support Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Okta.
SSO with other providers for PRTG Hosted Monitors
Support of other single sign-on providers for PRTG Hosted Monitor
Execute Program notifications for PRTG Hosted Monitor
PRTG Hosted Monitor does not support Execute Program notifications for security reasons. We are evaluating if it is possible to add (limited) Execute Program notification support to PRTG Hosted Monitor.
