Comparing Two Web Server
Softwares on the Same Hardware

In this test we wanted to see the difference between two web server programs on the same machine.

We installed the two webserver softwares on the same machine (DELL Optiplex 7010) and we configured Webserver Stress Tool to requested the same html page form both of them in parallel. The server and the test client (DELL R710 Server) were both connected through Gigabit LAN. We used the ramp test feature with up to 4,000 simultaneous users, each user requested the URL every 5 seconds.

In the graph we can see that everything went fine until about 600 simultaneous users (i.e. 300 users per web server). Then suddenly "webserver 2" starts to answer requests much slower while "webserver 1" still servers the requests without considerable change.
