Here are some practical ways how PRTG saves you time and money by giving you the 'big picture' on all your security devices.

Monitor your Security Tools    

Is your firewall online?
Ensure your firewall is controlling your internet traffic regardless of which tool you use. You can utilise SNMP, Netflow or XML/REST Sensors in PRTG. As an example, see tips for Palo Alto users here. 

Was your backup successful?
No matter what type of backup, you want confirmation every time. Use PRTG's IMAP Sensor to create alerts for your needs. The PRTG Knowledge Base has a Step-by-Step guide here.  

Are your virus definitions up-to-date?
There are different options in PRTG to monitor your virus definitions. You can use the WMI Security Center Sensor or create your own sensors for specific antivirus tools such as McAfee. Click here to learn how.
