Your Feedback is Highly Appreciated!

Since the very first release of our first monitoring software ("IPCheck" in 1998), we have used feedback from our customers to drive innovation and to continually improve our products. That's why we always encourage our customers to send us their comments and requests for features.

The "all-in-one" approach for our monitoring software PRTG enables the majority of our customers to monitor their entire IT network 'out-of-the-box,' simply by installing PRTG and setting up their monitoring using one of over many sensor types natively included with the software.

What Happens to Incoming Feedback?

There are always things that we could do better. This might involve developing a special feature  that you're missing, incorporating a good idea that you think others should also benefit from, or fixing a small bug that you have discovered. It is you, our customers, who we want to make happy. That's why we rely on your feedback so much!

We often receive well thought-through, creative, and unique ideas and suggestions, and we really like to listen to you! We have seen amazing ideas and concepts and for our development team it is often fascinating what people make out of our product!

We look at all incoming requests and put them all on our wish list, which we consider when further developing PRTG.

Sometimes a new feature is easy to implement, so we can provide it within days or weeks to coincide with the next update release of PRTG. And there are also requests that take some more time until they find their way into PRTG. For example, we might prioritize those features that the vast majority of our users will benefit from most. Of course, we cannot follow all of your suggestions, but we love your feedback and we take all requests into serious consideration. You can get in touch with us at any time by simply contacting our support team. We developed a transparent procedure to help us to evaluate and prioritize your requests and combine them with our own ideas. In my next blog post I will talk about how we at Paessler decide on the direction we take with PRTG, based on your feedback.

PRTG API for the Rescue

As a side note I'd like to mention our API here. If there's a feature you'd like that we can't include in the PRTG software itself, you may use the API to develop it yourself. We built the PRTG API to enable you to program additional monitoring and notification abilities into PRTG, re-brand the web interface, query the monitoring database, and even manipulate the configuration using your own scripts.
