With the TeraStation series, the Japanese storage specialist Buffalo offers a NAS solution, offering small and medium sized business a cost-effective and reliable option for central data storage. The latest PRTG Network Monitor release (17.1.29, February 2017) includes a new sensor and a device template for the Buffalo TeraStation. So you have an eye on your TeraStation's availability and performance all the time and can react immediately if any issues occur.
The SNMP-based sensor provides a set of basic information:
- Memory and CPU usage
- Uptime
- Number of errors and warnings
- Failover status
- Available firmware updates
- RPSU status
The new PRTG Buffalo TS System Health sensor
The new device template offers even more options. Included in the auto discovery, the template generates SNMP Custom Table and additional SNMP sensors which provide information such as:
- Array status
- Disk Smart status
- iSCSI status
- Traffic
- Memory
- Load average
For details on the Buffalo TS System Health Sensor, refer to the PRTG manual. Just update your PRTG installation to the current version to use the sensor.
