Monitoring Activity and Load of Specific Processes Using SNMP Helper Pro

If SNMP Helper Pro is installed on a system you can create sensors that monitor the performance of each single process on the system.

Here is a list of selected important processes that you may want to monitor.

  • IIS web server: "inetinfo"
  • Apache webserver: "apache"
  • Exchange Server's Information Store: "store"
  • Microsoft Printer Spooler Service: "spoolsv"

Interesting counters are: 

  • "process percent processor time" to find out whether a process consumes too much processor power
  • "process working set" tells you how much memory is currently used can help you to find memory leaks
