How to update to the latest version of IPCheck Server Monitor
We have been asked quite a number of times what the proper procedure for updating IPCheck is.
If you are updating (moving to a higher edition of the same major version, e.g. V5.3 to V5.4) then the answer is quite simple: merely install the newer release over the existing installation. The installer itself will prompt for permission to stop the services while updating and will do so after the user’s acceptance. All configuration and historic data should be retained.
We do, however, highly recommend backing up your sensitive data. The article linked below explains what is considered sensitive data as regards IPCheck:
