Why do I see requests from IPCheck or www.paessler.com in my web log?
If you run a web site you may see HTTP requests with the User Agent strings that contain "IPCHECK" or "www.paessler.com". This means somebody monitors your website using our IPCheck software.
If your website is being monitored using our software IPCheck Server Monitor you will see regular requests from the monitoring application in your HTTP logfile (Apache, IIS etc.).
The User Agent strings are:
- IPCheck V5: "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; IPCheck Server Monitor 5 (www.paessler.com); Windows)"
- IPCheck V4: "IPCHECK 4 www.paessler.com"
- IPCheck V3: "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; IPCheck Server Monitor; Windows)"
Please be aware that this does not necessarily mean that our company monitors your servers!
You must have a look at the IP address of the requests to find out where they came from. Paessler runs own monitoring systems from the following IP addresses only:
- mail.paessler.com
- www.bello-monitors-the.net
If the request are coming from other IP addresses, then somebody else is using our software IPCheck Server Monitor to monitor your website. We can not do anything about it.
If you want to stop these requests please contact the owner of the IP address or block the IP address on your systems.
