How to change the storage drive and folder for the database of IPCheck Server Monitor
By default IPCheck Server Monitor stores the SQL database file "ipcheck.fdb" (which contains the data for users, groups, servers and sensors etc.) in the installation folder, usually:
c:\program files\ipcheck server monitor 5
The historic monitoring data is stored in the "/monitoring database" subfolder of the installation folder, usually this is:
c:\program files\ipcheck server monitor 5\monitoring database
If you want to use a different folder or drive to store your day-to-day data please take the following steps:
- Shut down IPCheck's webserver service
- Move both *.fdb files (ipcheck.fdb and ipcbackup.fdb) and the "/Monitoring Database" folder to the new location
- Update the following registry entry with the new location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Paessler\IPCheck\dbpath
- Restart IPCheck's webserver service
The default value for the registry key is the installation folder:
c:\program files\ipcheck server monitor 5
