PRTG Network Monitor creates a plethora of monitoring data which can be interesting to persons beyond the administrator. To allocate these data for review by management, users, or even customers, PRTG Network Monitor offers several methods for publishing monitoring data.

Maps

Users can create “maps” which collate monitoring stati, graphs and tables in customizable layouts, providing customizable backgrounds like network charts. Using maps users can create their own graphical overviews of the monitored network.

• A map can have a background image (e.g. a network drawing) and the user can place icons and graphs providing the current monitoring status on the map.
• Users can define any number of maps and use them e.g. to create
  • a NOC dashboard
  • an overview of the network status for publishing in an Intranet
  • a web page with the graphs of the most important sensors and more
• By using the “Public Map” feature, the user can define URLs for a map to show this particular map’s data e.g. in an Intranet without the need for a user account or a login.
• Maps can contain
  • A background image (bitmap)
  • Icons with monitored objects’ status information
  • Graphs with monitored objects’ monitoring data
  • Top 10 lists and sorted sensor lists
• Maps are edited using the built-in Ajax, browser-based WYSIWYG map editor

Read Only User

PRTG Network Monitors allows to set up read-only users with viewing rights for defined areas. These users can navigate through the monitoring data of all relevant devices and sensors using the PRTG web interface without any risk.

• The user can get access to the monitoring data of different devices and sensors, as well as maps and reports.
• Due to the integrated rights management, the user rights can be defined exactly as needed without the risk of security breaches.

System Generated Link

PRTG 7 allows the administrator to generate a link for each sensor, leading the user directly to the sensor's data/graph. This link can also include the required credentials (username and password).

Customized Publishing

Using a PHP script monitoring data can be integrated into external websites via HTTP call.
