PRTG Network Monitor For the Mobile Administrator Enables Monitoring via Smartphone, Blackberry, iPhone, iPad & Co.

For remote access to PRTG, Paessler has integrated in version 8 additional mobile monitoring solutions. PRTG has added to the Ajax-based web interface a mini-HTML interface. The latter is specifically designed for display on small-size screens and for use over low-bandwidth connections. This offers near-immediate access to the PRTG Core Server from a smart phone. The interface provides the administrator with real-time information about the current status of the monitored network. Data is compiled clearly in lists, tables and graphs to quickly provide an overview of the information.

iPRTG as a monitoring assistant for Apple Devices

For Apple mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod or iPad, Paessler offers the iPRTG app. This app is optimized for operation via touch screen and includes an easy log-on feature through which the device automatically logs on the PRTG Core Server. With the current version 2.1, the administrator can now take advantage of the new features of the iPhone 4 and iPad, such as higher resolution for zooming in graphics, multitasking with PRTG running in the background and audible signals for alarms.

Via the mobile devices, PRTG provides the following information for the administrator, regardless of location:

• Home: Displays the favorite sensors and their current status.
• Status bar: The current status of all sensors is always on top
  (i.e. how many sensors are in the status "error" / "OK" / "Pause," etc.).
• Devices: Shows the "device tree" with groups and devices.
• Sensors: Displays various lists of sensors from the individual PRTG configuration (i.e. fastest/slowest ping, lowest and highest bandwidth, etc.).
• Alarms: Lists all the sensors which are in alarm status ("unusual"/"warning"/ "error").
• Maps: Users can easily select and display a map by tapping.
• Graphs: Graphs are directly displayed in the overview of the sensors and can be called up directly without click-through navigation.
