Monitor Server Availability
PRTG Ensures Continuous Server Availability
PRTG Network Monitor is Paessler's powerful network and server monitoring software.
It continuously monitors server availability and other important system parameters and notifies you if an issue requires your attention.
How Does PRTG Monitor Server Availability?
PRTG uses advanced PING tests to monitor server uptime. This is an easy and efficient way to keep track of all your servers.
The PRTG network monitor tools include special sensors to monitor the availability of the following server types:
- FTP servers
- Mail servers: SMTP, POP3, IMAP, Exchange 2003 and 2007
- SQL servers: MS SQL, mySQL, and Oracle servers
- Web servers
- Virtual servers: VMware, Hyper-V and Amazon CloudWatch servers
In case a server is down or responding slowly, you can immediately take steps to troubleshoot the problem. This helps you to significantly reduce downtimes and therefore enhance your organization's productivity.
In addition to monitoring server availability, PRTG also tracks the following factors to check server load and performance:
- CPU load
- Memory usage
- Free disk space
- Used bandwidth
- And more
PRTG - More Than Server Availability Monitoring
The PRTG Windows network monitor can also trace network traffic. Using its SNMP monitor functionality, you will only get a basic net bandwidth analysis. For a greater level of detail, you can use packet sniffing or NetFlow monitoring.
Moreover, PRTG is not only a LAN monitor: with just one installation of PRTG, you can monitor several networks using remote probes.
