Currently you have to create accounts in PRTG to give them access. Im wondering if the next version will have AD integration.

Sorry, AD authentication is not possible yet with PRTG 8. It is on the wishlist, but unfortunately, we cannot give an ETA.
If I could put my hand up for remote auth, we would prefer RADIUS authentication over Active Directory. Much preferred.
A range of external authentication methods would be a good idea.
eg. AD, LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS+
This would enable us to use whichever centralised authentication system we have in use. Where I work, we use AD with RSA and Cisco ACS. Each system is used for different parts of the authentication, authorisation and accounting process, so routing all logins etc via ACS via TACACS+ would be our preferred method.
Active Directory integration (and any other centralized authentication mechanism) is a must-have.
Any update on the ETA for Active Directory authentication?
We plan to have it with PRTG 9 (Q4 2011), but please bear in mind that I can't guarantee this. Please bear with us.
Just another ++ on this request. Federated access is a must in enterprises and moving from a different solution to paessler, we are sorely missing this feature.
Hallo,
Microsoft AD support will be included in PRTG 9.
