Dynamic sensor naming

Votes:

Hi Paessler, it would be very helpful, if newly created sensors would not just be named with a trailing sequential number, but with the hostname after the sensor's name (and the maybe a trailing number if more then one).

e.g. PING %SERVERNAME% (1)

Especially since many reports or references to sensors in PRTG do not show their host, this is quite important to us.

Is there any way to achieve this? Variables maybe?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Matin Schiemann

defaults naming sensors variables

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm very much afraid, in the moment this is not possible, not even with 'tricks'. We will put this on the wishlist though! Thank you very much for the feedback, we really appreciate it!\

best regards.
