Best way to monitor entire environment remotely

I want to set up a PRTG host in the amazon cloud that connects to my primary host here in the office, to let me know if it loses connectivity to that primary host. How would I do that?

The best way to accomplish this would be to set up a remote probe. You can then have the remote probe status in your main PRTG installation and set it up to notify you when that remote probe is down or in an error state. Remote Probes
