Duplicate Logs/Database on filesystem

Votes:

0

PRTG Version: 8.2.1.1931 OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

We are seeing two identical (based on filename/size) log file locations on the filesystem of the server where PRTG (server and probe) are installed.

Data storage location in the server administration tool is set to C:\ProgramData\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\V8\ Data storage location in the probe administration tool is set to C:\ProgramData\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\V8\

However, there is another location, (C:\Users\All Users\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\V8) that holds a duplicate set of files. When we set the data retention in the PRTG Web System Administration to smaller values, it shrinks along with the data in the locations set in the administration tools.

Currently, that data set is 20Gb in size, so we are in effect using 40Gb of storage. Why is this duplicate file set there?

Hello,

these are not duplicates from PRTG, in fact that's Windows there. One of these folders is only a link to the other one.

best regards.
