snmp alerting

I have APC snmp management cards sending SNMP traps to PRTG. I have an SNMP trap receiver on PRTG capturing the snmp msgs. I then have a notification trigger set to email these msgs to me. The issue is, all APC msgs come in on the same OID value, thus every snmp event on an APC (diagnostic, battery, etc) is being emailed to me. I just want to be informed of bad batteries. Is there a way that PRTG can look at the string and filter based on what it sees (ie alert on "battery" but do nothing on "diagnostic")?

Hi Dave,

If you only want to be informed about bad batteries, why not use one or more SNMP sensors to inform you about batterie voltage, capacity, time remaining, replacement needed, etc

All these are available from the PowerNet-MIB
