I set up a GoDaddy certificate earlier this week. I used Option #2 from here: http://www.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/283-how-can-i-use-a-trusted-ssl-certificate-with-the-prtg-web-interface

Install Open SSL as the instructions, however for GoDaddy you have to change the command to generate a 2048 key. I found the info here: http://blogs.digitss.com/apache/openssl/generating-2048-bit-csr-with-openssl/

Here is the modified syntax:

openssl req -new -nodes rsa:2048 -keyout prtg7.key -out prtg7.csr -config openssl.cfg

After that just follow the instructions in Option 2 and it should work fine.

OK, good info so far, but I have hit a snag. I installed OpenSSL (I missed that in my original research) and generated the Cert.

The instructins say I should have 5 files. The actual .crt plus 4 I need to combine. I am not getting these. I only get two. I tried renaming the on with the domain name and PRTG7.CRT anf the other as ROOT.PEM and copying them in to the \cert directory but when I try to stop/start the server it fails.

Thanks for the help so far. Can you get me home now??? ;-)

AHHH Maybe this was a dumb oversight by me. You need to copy the .key file from the \bin directory to the \cert directory.

Problem solved...
