PRTG 7.2 Released
More Than 500 New Features And Improvements
Since the release of PRTG Network Monitor 7.1 in March 2009 we implemented lots of new features and improvements, most of them based on our customer requests and feedback.
Some highlights of 7.2 are:
- New Windows GUI
The Windows-based user interface is faster and more comfortable when managing sensors, especially for larger installations. - Innovative QoS (Quality of Service) sensor
Measures vital network connectivity parameters like jitter, packet loss, and packet delay variation between two probes – the perfect tool to find network issues that can affect VoIP sound quality or video streaming hickups - Plus more than ten new sensor types:
- Support for NetFlow 9 and sFlow
- IP-SLA sensor for Cisco devices
- Amazon CloudWatch sensor monitors virtual instances in the Amazon EC2 cloud
- Support for HyperV virtual servers and RADIUS servers
- SNMP Trap receiver and Syslog receiver
- Sensors for Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003
- Improved web interface
Users upgrading from previous versions will find many new features that make working with PRTG so much easier.- Multi-object editing (e.g. change the interval for 30 PING sensors in one step)
- New compact “S” view for groups that show a large number of servers on less screen estate
- Just these and the other UI changes justify an upgrade!

iPRTG - Now Available
New iPhone App for On-the-Go Network Monitoring
With iPRTG a new iPhone App is available that gives access to our network monitoring software PRTG from the iPhone - a new dimension of "mobile monitoring". The app fulfils all requirements of a modern network monitoring solution. Even when traveling, iPRTG makes it possible to check the status of server availability and, if necessary, take prompt action to avoid the negative economic impact of system downtime.
