PRTG Consumes Only 400 kbit/s Network Bandwidth to Monitor 10,000 Ports on 270 Switches
Our reseller Omicron AG from Switzerland has set up an installation of PRTG with 10,000 SNMP sensors for one of their customers, a multi-national company with almost 100,000 employees worldwide. For traffic monitoring, this setup consumes very little bandwidth only.

Using Amazon EC2 Micro Instances For WAN and Website Monitoring
Recently the Amazon EC2 Cloud announced that their "Micro Instances" now support Windows as operating system. Before this announcement you could only use "Small Instances" for Windows machines on the Amazon Cloud. Now Amazon even offers new customers a Micro Instance free of charge for one year.

Monitor SAP Systems with PRTG
If you always wanted to monitor your SAP systems with PRTG, you should take a look at the SAP sensors from Icon Software. This vendor has long-standing experience with SAP systems and created a comprehensive package of approximately 40 different sensors which can be integrated into PRTG using the "EXE/Script (Advanced)" sensor type.

iPRTG 3.0 is Available Now!
iPRTG is the app that makes mobile use of PRTG really simple. It can be installed on the iPhone, iPad, iPad 2, and iPod touch (iOS 4.0 or later). The app polls data from the PRTG server and displays it the ‘iphonic' way-with the look and feel that you're accustomed to on your Apple device.

The CEO's Personal Top 10
Last week we had a short internal session to celebrate version 9 of PRTG. During the session, I showed the following slides with my personal 'Top 10' list of the nicest, new features and changes between PRTG 8 and PRTG 9. Many of them are not part of the official "What's new" list because they include more subtle changes which cannot be considered a real "feature".
