PRTG 9 has been available for several months now. We're very happy that not only we, ourselves, like our products, but also that our customers love it, as we get a lot of positive feedback from them. The press is excited, as well.

Three very experienced software testers and journalists, all specialists on the network monitoring market, examined PRTG very carefully. The testers were excited in every respect and PRTG earned rave reviews.

Dave Mitchell took a very close look at PRTG for the British IT magazine PC Pro. Promptly PRTG was added to the "A-List", which means it is now the recommendation of the magazine for the best network monitoring software. We're very proud of this. Dave describes PRTG as "slick and packed with features, and its undeniable value is improved by the absence of hidden costs." He especially appreciates the easy, automatic network discovery. His conclusion: "With top features for the price, it's our new favourite network monitoring tool."

Frank Ohlhorst tested PRTG for the US American IT magazine eWeek. He likes the good operation of PRTG in heterogeneous networks, regardless of the size of a network, as well as the high number of devices directly supported by the software. Most "devices on the market are well-covered, and having to create a custom sensor may be a rarity for typical network monitoring chores," he says. The generally agent-less monitoring, which does not require any installations on the target systems, also excited Ohlhorst. He sums up: "Paessler has taken what was already an excellent product and has made it better." He says, he found it difficult to find any "nits to pick" with this new version of PRTG. He also liked the very easy upgrade process as well as the overall operation of PRTG. In his opinion, the new features add great value to PRTG, while with all new enhancements and improvements, the price of the product remained steady, "making what was once a very good value an even better one."

Dirk Jarzyna tested PRTG for the German IT magazine funschau and assigned PRTG the highest test attribute "Reference." He liked the enormous feature package, the redesigned easy-to-use web interface, the elaborated object/device hierarchy, and the very good value-for-money ratio. As a special asset he praises the quick setup: "Special requirements, like a functioning Microsoft SQL server or MySQL installation, for example, are not necessary. Contrary to many other monitoring packages, the program doesn't use these at all." He also applauds the "very interactive" Libraries and certifies that the software alarms work "flawlessly" and are "clearly reported by the program and are meticulously logged."
