PRTG Advances Beyond 100 Types of Sensors
With version 8.3 our software, PRTG Network Monitor, now offers more than one hundred different sensor types. A total number of 112 different types of sensors enable users to monitor their networks and servers with an impressive depth. The new sensor types are:
- HTTP XML/REST Value (consumes REST based XML APIs to retrieve a sensor value)
- HTTP SSL Certificate Expiry (monitors the number of days left until the SSL certificate of a HTTPS website expires)
- Traceroute Hop Count (monitors the number of hops required to reach a remote system and alerts when route changes)
- Logfile Content Check (scans a text file and alerts if a certain string is contained within the file)
- Windows Logged in users (monitors the number of active user sessions on a Windows system)
- WMI Windows Version (monitors the currently installed Windows version)
- Windows Last Update (monitors the number of days since the last Windows update)
- Active Directory Replication Errors (monitors Active Directory domain controllers for replication errors)
- POP3 Email Count (counts number of mails in a POP3 mailbox)
- FTP Server File Count (counts number of files on a FTP server)
- INI File Content Check (check the content of an INI file)
- Ping Jitter (sends a number of PINGs to a remote system and calculates the Jitter value)
- Ping with Delayed Up (intended to be used as a dependency sensor for devices where other services need extra time to become available after a (re-)boot)
- Windows Print Queue (monitors the number of jobs and the state of a print queue on a Windows server, alerts e.g. if paper has run out)
- Windows MSMQ Queue Length (monitors the queue length of a MS Message Queue Server)
- IP on DNS Blacklist (checks various blacklist servers in order to verify if an IP address is blacklisted due to spam emails)
