The return of the TEXTLIST interface

With the latest beta version of PRTG Network Monitor 7.0.8 we have re-implemented the so-called “TEXTLIST” interface which makes access to the current monitoring status of all your sensors easy.

This interface was initially introduced for IPCheck Server Monitor 5 and was used by

  • IPCheck’s Windows GUI
  • IPCheck’s Mobile GUI (für Windows Mobile devices)
  • A number of PHP scripts used to publish monitoring status
  • Various scripts and programs written by IPCheck users

With the new TEXTLIST implementation in PRTG 7 now all the usage options above should now work with PRTG 7 as well as IPCheck 5 (except for the IPCheck Windows GUI which does not support PRTG).

Here is a screenshot of a Windows Mobile phone with the Mobile UI connected to a PRTG 7 server:

The Mobile UI can be downloaded from the IPCheck download page, but is not officially supported anymore.

Note: We have implemented the interface for PRTG Network Monitor 7 for easy upgrades for our customers. But it should be considered deprecated for the future. Please use the PRTG API for new projects.
