Paessler's PRTG Network Monitor is a straightforward, easy-to-use tool for monitoring network bandwidth utilization on networks. This comprehensive network and server monitoring tool lets you log the amount of data flowing through routers, monitor CPU and memory utilization, check server availability, and much more. The most common use of our bandwidth monitor is to check leased lines, routers and firewalls, but PRTG also offers many other possibilities. For example, you might want to monitor managed switches, printers, or any other SNMP enabled network components.

PRTG's flexible alerting system enables you to configure a variety of different notifications, ensuring that you will be informed of all issues that need your attention. In order to notify you of excessive bandwidth utilization, outages etc., PRTG can relay warnings and alerts using SMS, email or pager messages. PRTG can also send SNMP Traps or Syslog messages, play a sound, execute an external file etc.. This way you can react proactively to all network and bandwidth issues and often you will be able to troubleshoot problems before they affect other users.

Paessler's network traffic analyzer PRTG is available in two editions. For basic bandwidth monitoring, the Freeware may be downloaded and used for personal and commercial use completely free of charge. For more advanced needs, licenses for the Commercial Editions start at $400 / €300.
PRTG also allows you to check the available disk space Linux and it monitors windows 2003 Terminal server. The ESX Server monitor also supports a hyper v monitor and includes Vmware management tools.
